Our hurlers have reached the All-Ireland Final after beating Calry/St. Joseph's of Sligo in the semi-final. In a tight contest, both teams struggled to adapt to the conditions in a scrappy first half, with Mayfield going in at the break ahead by three points. Mayfield scored a fortunate goal in the start of the second half to put a bit of daylight between the teams and held on for the win. In fairness to Calry/ St. Joseph’s, they battled throughout the game, scoring some great points and a late goal. Mayfield showed great battling qualities throughout the game, especially during the first half when the game was in the melting pot. Great performances on the day from David O’ Neill, David Malone and Kevin Punch helped seal victory for the boys in red. The lads now progress to the All-Ireland Final on February 18^th at Croke Park, where they will play Mooncoin from Kilkenny.
